On the 20th June the Alchemy Club will come together for our third roundtable session of 2018. The Club meets regularly to discuss major challenges to decision-makers across the finance & procurement function. Our mission is to give our members a competitive advantage through digital endeavours.
The role of the CFO is evolving rapidly. CFOs are now at the vortex of business planning, ROI and tech developments such as digitalisation. No wonder over 57% now have 2 or more non-finance direct reports (EY, 2017). And this trend continues to accelerate.
Indeed, the arrival of new technologies such as robotic process automation are stripping out tasks that previously took time and human resources to complete. And whilst CFOs are at the heart of evaluating these investments, isn’t it ironic that the Finance department itself remains one of the last functions to modernise? [McKinsey, 2018]
With this in mind, the Alchemy Club is meeting to discuss a topical question: what are modern CFOs doing to be a catalyst for change within their own department?
